wordpress to Drupal 6

So i was able to locate my old wordpress database, which i thought was lost in the latest server migration.

Once I found it, I thought it was time to move on from Wordpress (which i always thought lacked functionality), and went ahead and sucked it into the best CMS there is to date.

Lots of things need to happen on this site to restore some of the audio and video, but changing platforms was a nice first step.  I am currently super bogged down with loads of webwork at our company, so this may take some time.

Goon City

Last Saturday I discovered Goon City. It's basically a Google map of a fantasy world with some really odd things going on in the landscape. Reminds me of a pixelated Second Life -- thru a web browser.

Search Woes

So, I have a couple cool posts coming, but just to keep the blogging momentum going, I'll write about my drupal site not indexing properly. Since I'm getting closer to this CMS launch for our company's new Asia Pacific office, I had to make sure I got this solved ASAP.

GMAIL for domains

On March 21st, I got an invite for the Google for domains service. I'd been tied up that week so I got around to this today.

Creating a Mail Enabled Contact

This morning I created a mail enabled contact in the Active Directory to forward mail from an address Domain A on my server, to a mail address on Domain B (hosted mail account). I needed to do this without the contact showing up on the Global Address List, essentially grouping them away from the main AD accounts. Otherwise I was going to start receiving hundreds of requests from users in the office to add people to the GAL...

Art form or science?

Last week I migrated our Sacramento office’s web/mail server from their former unreliable host. Under my tight schedule, I based my decision on the crème-du-la-crème datacenter and their level of support.
